👉🏽 “Man, you saved me! Before the show, I couldn't turn my head to see the band (to lead them). You fixed my neck tonight!"
– Art Neville, The Neville Brothers, backstage opening for the Grateful Dead
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with performing artists backstage at the Grateful Dead and with performing artists from Nirvana, Phish, The Neville Brothers, the SugarBeets, Dark Star Orchestra, The Sky Cries Mary, Leftover Salmon, the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, the fabulous Garcia Birthday Band,  and the cast of Saturday Night Live.
As a longtime guitarist/performing artist and occasional actor myself, I know the toll this work takes on your body. Shoulders, neck, hands, spine are our tools, and when they’re jammed up, so are our performances.Â
I bring  40 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist, with an understanding of the specific strain patterns that come from playing different instruments, as well as years as the live-in therapist/father of a serious aspiring ballet dancer. I specialize in onsite chair massage in green rooms, right before or after the show.
Whether it’s:
Loosening up so you’re stage-ready/relaxed but energized,
Winding down after a hard show,
Or relieving tweaks from your last travel date, I’m happy to help.
💆🏽‍♂️ I’m happy to trade massage sessions for comps to your show, a mutually supportive trade that honors both of our crafts.
